Boxing headgear is a padded helmet, worn on the head by contestants in Amateur and Olympic boxing. It effectively protects against cuts, scrapes, and swelling, but it does not protect very well against concussions. 

There are different types of boxing headgear available. Some headgear is open-faced. This is the style normally used in amateur boxing competitions. Unlike open-faced headgear, training headgear covers the cheek. "Face-saver" headgear features a pad across the face so that no direct contact is made to the face. However, as the amount of padding in headgear is increased, visibility is reduced.

Good maintenance habits can extend the service life of the product and avoid some wrong maintenance methods for care.

1. After using the boxing protective gear, wipe off the sweat on the protective gear with a clean wet towel(do not wipe with a wet towel at a temperature higher than 40 degrees), and do not add detergent.

2. Be sure to store it in a dry, ventilated and odor-free place. If there is sweat inside the protective gear, please use a dry paper towel to absorb the moisture first, and do not place it in a closed environment.

3. If there are places that are more difficult to clean, you can use a mild detergent for cleaning, but do not use corrosive detergents.

4. Desiccant or deodorizing carbon can be placed inside the protective gear.

5. The agitation and spinning motion of a washing machine can damage the headgear, leading to tearing and loss of protective structure. Most headgear is not made to withstand the rigors of a washing machine. So remember don't throw it in the washing machine.
