MATERIALS
Gloves are meant for contact, so they need to be tough and provide protection. High-quality karate gloves are usually made of durable synthetic leather or genuine leather, and the lining should be a sweat-wicking, breathable material to keep your hands dry and comfortable even during long training sessions.
PROTECTION PERFORMANCE
Check that the padding of the gloves is thick and evenly distributed, especially on the palm and knuckles, which are prone to impact during practice. In many karate competitions and formal training situations, wearing gloves of a specified standard is one of the rules requirements. Ensure your karate glove is independently certified and manufactured to sports regulatory body specifications. If you plan on competing, make sure your glove is World Karate Federation (WKF) approved.
SIZE
Most brands provide size guides. It is recommended to choose according to your hand size. Gloves that are too big or too small will affect the performance of skills and protective effects. The wrist closure design of the gloves is also critical, usually a Velcro style. Make sure the closure system can stabilize the gloves and prevent them from slipping off during training.
