With the official opening of the Paris Olympics, this grand event in sports history has once again become a topic of conversation. In addition to traditional sports, the Paris Summer Olympics has added four new sports, namely breakdancing, skateboarding, rock climbing, and surfing. The emergence of new sports has once again stirred the hearts of those who are concerned about the inclusion of MMA in the Olympics.
As early as 2016, as the international audience for MMA increased, UFC event president Dana White publicly stated that he would do his best to get MMA into the Olympics. After all, due to the particularity of the sport, many MMA stars are former Olympic athletes.
In 2018, the two major MMA regulatory agencies in the world, WMMAA and IMMAF, announced their merger and jointly promoted the inclusion of MMA in the Olympics. Han Jiuli, Minister of the Chinese Boxing Association, once said in a media interview that the inclusion of MMA in the Olympics has entered the coaching period, and it is only a matter of time.
However, in February 2019, the resolution to include MMA in the Olympics was rejected. At that time, the retired MMA star Khabib revealed that MMA might be successfully included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. However, there is no shadow of MMA in the newly added sports for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. However, considering the influence of MMA in North America, it is not ruled out that it will become a performance event.
Perhaps it will still take some time for MMA to be included in the Olympics, but as a promoter of this sport, Zhengtu Sports will do its utmost to contribute to the development of MMA.
